Gold Extraction & Ore Treatment

Numerous process steps - customized solutions

In order to produce metal or mineral concentrates from raw ore or ore-bearing rock, the ore must be treated by removal of redundant elements. The process of treatment and enrichment consists of crushing and grinding of coarse ore, classification, flotation, filtration, drying and subsequent storage.

The main process steps are:

Crushing – Crushing the mined ore-bearing rock up to the necessary particle size is made in crushern.

Grinding – is made in autogenous and ball mills.

Classification – after crushing the chrushed ore materials is classified into different grain categories through screening and hydrocycloning.

Flotation – during the physical-chemical process, dispersed or suspended substances in the water are transported by adhering gas bubbles to the water surface where they are skimmed off. The product resulting hereof is the ore concentrate.

Thickening - a concentration of solids occures in the radial-, paste- or heavy duty thickener through the influence of gravity.

Filtration – the concentrate is cleaned and dehydrated, e.g. by a vacuum belt filter.

Drying - the pure concentrate is dried, most often in rotary furnaces.

Storage depending on its further use, the dried concentrate is stored as powder or pellets.
