Desludging and Drainage System - Water Treatment Plant in Russia
A contribution of ENGINEERING DOBERSEK GmbH to enviromental improvement in Russian - reconstruction of the diamond mining plant for thickening, Dewatering and Dry Storage of disposals of the Leading Diamond producer „AK ALROSA“ in Russia.
In August 2007 ENGINEERING DOBERSEK GmbH signed a contract with the Russian company „AK Alrosa“ for the construction of a plant for thickening, dewatering and dry storage of the disposals. „AK Alrosa“, the worldwide second largest diamond producer, is making significant investments in the modernization of their industrial infrastructure. The diamond mining plant is located in Nakyn, Yakutia, close to the largest open-pit of „AK Alrosa“, in North Siberia.
The present tailings facility will reach its storage capacity limit by the end of 2009. Therefore ENGINEERING DOBERSEK GmbH is projecting and delivering a plant for dewatering discharged diamond sludge (kimberlitic-rock) to ensure dry storage of the disposals. The sludges will be dewatered inside the plant up to solid contents exceeding 85 %. For this reason the lifetime of the existing disposal facility will be extended and in particular the waste water level of the diamond mines will be reduced. “AK Alrosa” will not have to build up new disposal lakes, which would pollute the environment. This solution by ENGINEERING DOBERSEK GmbH thus contributes to the protection of the local ecosystem.
The main delivery scope includes the Conticlass® system developed by ENGINEERING DOBERSEK GmbH, a hydrocylone plant, as well as “Height Eimco Deep Cone Thickener” , and dosing unit for flocculants and process-based transport conveying systems. Furthermore a process control system is to be installed (SCADA, PLC).
The total value of the contract amounts to 10.0 milion euro.
